With our generation being the first users of the image-driven social media platform - Instagram, this is a satiric piece on one aspect of how it causes distortion in perception of beauty by promoting the unhealthy act of idealising our self-image. In a constant bid to one-up another, some may even take on another persona. As the cycle of self-promotion continues with a need to validate our social status, we are drawn further from reality.
